"RSS" is a great way of keeping up with the latest posts at FP (and other web sites). You don't even have to visit FP to read the posts.

I strongly recommend all users try it.

Basically RSS is a method that allows software on your computer to check internet sites to see if new information has been posted. You can find out more about it at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_%28protocol%29

To find free software to allow you to access the FP RSS feed visit:

You can access the RSS feed for the whole of FP or just for a specific category. Look for the little icon ==>

RSS feeds can be consumed by many types of software (including other web pages). I personally use a little bit of free software called RssReader (http://www.rssreader.com/) which runs in the background on my computer all the time and checks to see if new posts have been made. I'm not recommending it in particular - I think there are many that do about the same job.

IE7 also has an rss reader built in.

The idea is that you can have one piece of software which can check many websites for you so you don't have to visit them all the time to see what has changed.

Tim, make sure you use http://www.farmphoto.com/FPv2/RSS.aspx as the target for the feed reader. Not just http://www.farmphoto.com

why dos this site keep going off line while uploading worked good up north till 4 5 weeks ago now can't upload anything tryed daily over and again for weeks no luck,now home in southland uploads worked till yes day morning tryed 12 or 14 time since no luck why? :(( :( :-( :((

What error is thrown when you try to upload? What browser are you using, and can you think of anything that might have changed at the time it stopped working for you?

Thanks for the extra info. There are a couple of reasons this error is thrown. It might have something to do with the size of the file being uploaded. Do you know how many KB it was?

thats a new one on me Stu.! don't know ! but I guess all the photos on a disc would be the same,that being the case I've loaded most the others are from this disc. :-/ :)) I'm still useing roll film,and get the processer to put them on disc,this can be a bit hit and miss(have 4 or 5 discs that I can't use),but the disc from this processer has always worked fine. :)>-

yeah, this might not be the reason. I'm fishing a bit to try and figure out what is going on....

EDIT: it looks like there was a problem with any file over 200k ?? Not sure but hopefully this is fixed now...
